In the 80s and 90s, San Marco mountain shoes became a legend, entering the heart of trekking and mountaineering enthusiasts. Since its origins, in the 40s, the company has created high quality boots, first in leather and suddendly by using innovative materials. Anticipating the ski boom of the 60s, it created the first boot entirely in synthetic material in 1965, revolutionizing the performance of this sector. In 1969 the first injection bootie was born through a San Marco patent, while in 1977 the first complete plastic ski mountaineering shoe appeared into the market.
At the end of the 80s, San Marco changed the market once again. It created a futuristic hiking and climbing footwear line which was the result of material experimentation that were innovative at that time, such as waterproof and breathable membranes to protect the foot from external agents through research applied to comfort and development of new styles and modern color combinations.
